No More Tv! Nurture Your Children With Nature
Tired of the television? Kid recreation in the great outdoors can help kids grow stronger, enhance their social skills and improve their scholastic performance. From about 4 years and older kids can hike, ski, skate snowshoe and snowboard all on their own! They are eager, adaptable, not pre-conditioned to be afraid (unless we encourage them) and most of the time will tell you how they already know how to do it! Outdoor kid recreation is the best means to improve children’s connection with nature, teach them about wildlife, insects, trees, the air we breathe, and the earth. Kids love to explore so be prepared for the questions.
Have you ever said: wish I had learned to ski when I was a kid? Encourage kids to learn a new outdoor sport. It will build their confidence, teach them about hard work, achievement and may even get them attached to doing something outdoors! Gear and equipment is made for all kids recreation: ice skating, cross country skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. The best lesson in life to be learned is not falling down, but getting back up.
When kids recreate they feel the cold, the heat, the bugs and their hunger. Be prepared for your kids by dressing them in the proper footwear, equipment, and outerwear. Check out Kid's Clothes and Gear from Sun & Ski Sports
Survival Gear included here, is basic, durable and yet necessary for kids to recreate in the great outdoors. Children’s winter gear, ski equipment, snowshoes and snowboard equipment is included all at affordable prices. Summer recreation for kids can necessitate durable footwear, anti-bug clothing (a must have), UV protective eyewear and wide brimmed hats. Last but not least, keep them hydrated with kid backpacks.
HOT TIP: When recreating with your kids in nature, bring layers for your children and dress them in layers. Peel as you go or layer as you need. The beauty of nature is that the weather can change when it chooses to, not when you want it to. Great items to dress them in or carry:
1. Proper socks, especially for winter sports
2. Proper under garments
3. A fleece jacket
4. A wind breaker or shell
5. Supportive footwear
6. Hats
7. Protective Wear

Some fun ideas with outdoor kids recreation in all seasons:
2. hide behind a tree
3. Challenge them on how many heart shaped rocks they can find
4. Sing songs
5. Play follow the leader
6. Find walking sticks
7. Encourage them to run
8. Have them collect a few leaves, small sticks, pine needles and make a collage when they get home by gluing all of the items on a piece of paper.
9. Make snow angels
10. Start a snowball fight
Get out of the house and get your kids into outdoor recreation. Your kids will sleep better at night and so will you.
